LIVE FROM ZIMBABWE: ALBERT NYATHI!
Albert Nyathi, an internationally known spoken word artist, speaker and performer from Zimbabwe, will be making a special appearance for the first time ever on Long Island. Among the many highlights of his career, Albert has performed for heads of state across the globe, and was his country’s official greeter to Nelson Mandela in 1996.
Albert’s rich and colorful original spoken word art appeals to audiences of all ages. In Zimbabwe he is the voice of the people, conveying what many wish they could say, but that would likely result in their arrest, or worse.
Albert has served as an artist-in-resident for public schools and universities throughout the UK, performing and teaching students from kindergarten through college. His magnetic personality and passion for both his art and his people shines through every word.
THIS SPECIAL PERFORMANCE IS BEING HELD FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRODUCING A SHORT VIDEO; ALL IN ATTENDANCE MAY BE INCLUDED IN THE FILMING.
Come meet Albert, see him perform in traditional Zimbanwean garb, and take part in this one-time event. There will be time for Q &A, and refreshments will be served.
